It is usually caused by hyperpigmentation.
Hyperpigmentation is why you have dull skin. It is a condition in which a few parts of the skin appear duller than the other parts. In simpler terms, it is known as tanning, uneven skin tone, or an overall dull appearance. It happens due to the excessive production of melanin. Melanin is basically what provides pigment to the skin. It is produced by the cells melanocytes which are located in the basal layer of the skin. These cells are responsible for transferring pigment uniformly throughout the epidermis. If you are suffering from dull skin, it is due to more production of melanin than usual. It causes pigmentation and makes your skin look lifeless, taking away the natural glow.

Dehydrated and poor diet: Are you taking good care of yourself?
